MASTERPIECE LONDON 2017

29 June 2017 – 5 July 2017

Continuing our series of solo presentations at Masterpiece London, Blain|Southern presents Jeroen Verhoeven’s Bubble Cabinet. Seemingly fragile, the beautiful cluster of soap bubbles is actually made of borosilicate, one of the strongest types of glass.

Verhoeven’s work is characterised by its fusion of the fantastical with the functional, working at the boundaries that exist between art, design, technological innovation and traditional craftsmanship. Verhoeven and his collective, Demakersvan, aim to challenge the traditional Modernist ideal of form following function; commonplace objects are transformed into the unique and extraordinary.
