14 February – 10 June 2012

Michael Joo is participating in the inaugural exhibition of the Asia Society, Hong Kong; Transforming Minds: Buddhism in Art, showcasing Buddhist works from the renowned Mr. and Mrs. John D. Rockefeller III’s Collection of Asian Art, as well as contemporary works by leading Asian and Asian American artists inspired by Buddhist beliefs. The exhibition opens with a discussion on Buddhism and art, on 10 February, in which Joo will take part, alongside fellow artists Zhang Huan and Mariko Mori.

Joo’s 2011 work, Expanded Access, displayed last year at the Venice Biennale, is to be included in the American debut of Glasstress, the exhibition organised by Adriano Berengo for the past two Venice Biennales. Glasstress New York: New Art from the Venice Biennale, at the Museum of Arts and Design, will present nearly two dozen works from the Venetian editions, along with work never before exhibited.
