Chiharu Shiota's body of work is celebrated in the retrospective exhibition Linhas da Vida (Lifelines), on view from 13 November at the Centro Cultural Banco do Brasil São Paulo (CCBB-SP).

The exhibition will present seminal works by the artist including The Key in the Hand (2015) and the brand new work Além da Memória (2019) inspired by the diversity of the Brazilian people and the historical architecture of the CCBB-SP. This suspended, 13-metre-high cloud-like sculpture is composed of more than 1,000 sheets of white paper. It is an invitation for the public to idealise their own history and to reflect on their memory.
