Bill Viola features prominently in this year's Adelaide Festival of Arts (February 27th - March 14th) with seven major works displayed in three separate locations in the city. The Art Gallery of South Australia presents the video/sound installations,The Crossing (1996) and The Messenger (1996), and will also premiere Walking on the Edge and The Encounter, pieces from his 2012 Mirage series. While the historic Queen’s Theatre will be home to Fire Woman (2005) and Tristan’s Ascension (The Sound of a Mountain Under a Waterfall) (2005). From February 28th to April 12th, 2015, the De Nieuwe Kerk in Amsterdam will also show Tristan’s Ascension and Fire Woman as part of its annual Masterpiece series, and Kukje Gallery in Seoul will exhibit works from March 5th to May 3rd, 2015.
