The Louisiana Channel has produced a new 30-minute film, 'Cameras are Soul Keepers', in which Bill Viola discusses in-depth his development as an artist through the lens of his own personal experiences and breakthroughs. Viola explains the impetus behind his belief that cameras are 'keepers of the soul', in that video represents the primary medium through which the life of past feelings can be reinterpreted and sustained.

The artist was interviewed by Christian Lund, Louisiana Museum of Modern Art, in the galleries at Blain|Southern, London in 2011.
