Francesco Clemente’s exhibition Standing with Truth is part of the Ravello Festival 2017. The exhibition features one of Clemente’s celebrated large-scale tents. Created over a period of three years, the tents feature intricate patterns, emblematic imagery and vividly painted figures. Every aspect of the tent is painted in intricate detail; Clemente hand painted the interior in tempera and with embroidery and wood block elements were applied to the exterior by Rajasthani artisans.
Also during the festival, Francesco and Alba Clemente are part of Armitage Gone! Dance the Wall – choreographed by Karole Armitage, the production features music inspired by Pink Floyd, live painting by Francesco and costumes designed by Alba. The Ravello Festival is an annual summer festival of music and the arts held in the town of Ravello on the Amalfi coast. It opens on 2 July and runs until 30 September.
