9 MAY – 30 AUGUST 2015
Blain|Southern and The Estate of Lynn Chadwick are delighted to announce a major outdoor retrospective exhibition of 24 key works by the late British sculptor, shown across the Boboli and Bardini Gardens in Florence, Italy. This is the first public solo show since 1962 in Italy for Chadwick, whose works have found a revitalised international audience over the past decade since his major retrospective at Tate Britain.
It is also the first time that an exhibition has been held across two gardens. The Boboli Gardens have housed the finest examples of sculpture ever since the 16th Century when they were built by Cosimo I de’ Medici. Smaller and more manicured than the Boboli, the Bardini Gardens are named after the art collector Stefano Bardini who bought the property in 1913. The gardens were recently restored by the Bardini Foundation and reopened in 2005.Back to news
