Nightfall - New tendencies in figurative painting
29 March – 24 April 2013
Galerie Rudolfinum, Prague
Marius Bercea’s work features in the group show, Nightfall, at Galerie Rudolfinum, Prague. The exhibition first opened at MODEM Centre for Modern and Contemporary Arts, Hungary, in late 2012. The exhibition brings together some of the most innovative figurative painters working today, many of whom share a tendency towards darkly atmospheric, uneasy subject matter. Featuring the works of over twenty artists from nine countries, the show aims to present contemporary figurative painting within a socio-political context. Participating artists include Adrian Ghenie, Victor Man and Serban Savu.
The exhibition is curated by Jane Neal, an independent art critic and leading expert on the contemporary art scene in Eastern Europe.
