Commissioned by documenta 14Speech is a new sound art work by Nasan Tur. The work consists of the audio recording of speeches by powerful politicians which Tur has edited to remove the spoken language.  What remains is the sound between the spoken words; breathing, swallowing, sighing - intimate bodily sounds which change the image of these figures into fragile and vulnerable human beings.

Speech is live streamed daily on FM 90.4 MHz in Kassel and worldwide on the website of documenta 14 until 17 September 2017. Listen here

Tur’s work also features in Meet Me in Heaven, a group show at Schloss Tüssling Projects curated by Philipp Bollmann. Currently showing until 18 June, the exhibition features works by leading contemporary artists who make work concerned with the finite nature of life.
