Ali Banisadr is one of the latest artists to be featured in The Metropolitan Museum of Art’s online series, The Artist Project. The project invites artists to choose individual works from the Met’s collection that spark their imaginations. Banisadr, whose work is also housed in the museum’s permanent collection, talks about how his synaesthesia (a condition where one sense, such as sight, simultaneously triggers another, like sound) draws him to The Adoration of the Magi by Hieronymus Bosch. You can see him discussing the paintings ‘sound’, how the composition pulls the viewer into the work and its sense of mystery here.
