Tim Noble and Sue Webster will be exhibiting two works - Bloody Haemorrhaging Narcissus and Nasty Pieces of Work - in group show 1.Pers.sing, which takes place in the old military bunkers of the b-05 space in Montabaur, Germany.
This exhibition, which is curated by Johannes Sperling, includes works from 17 international artists from different generations, covering a range of artistic practices from self-portraiture to performance pieces. The show aims to examine a variation of approaches to depictions of the self and the motivations behind these creative expressions. While some artists address political, historical or sociocultural themes framing the human condition, others are more concerned with purely personal experiences. Noble and Webster’s two featured works can both be seen an investigation into self-portraiture, further deconstructing the relationship between materiality and form which has become so intrinsic to their practice.
